    Dr. Catherine deVries receives recognition for a lifetime of volunteer urology care in under-resourced communities across the globe.
    The Urology Care Foundation (UCF) is proud to announce Catherine deVries, MD as the recipient of its 2021 inaugural Humanitarian Recognition Award. This award is bestowed upon an individual who exemplifies the spirit of philanthropy as evidenced by their humanitarian work. Dr. deVries is an active member of SPU and the pediatric urology community, presenting at many SPU meetings.

  • AUA Awards Recognize Two SPU Members

    Congratulations to:
    Michael L. Ritchey, MD SPU Immediate Past President, Michael L. Ritchey, MD for receipt of an AUA Presidential Citation. The AUA Presidential Citations are presented to individuals deemed to have significantly promoted the cause of urology. Dr. Ritchey was selected for his outstanding contributions to pediatric urologic oncology, and leadership with ABU and ABMS supporting urologic certification.
    Ronald Rabinowitz, MD SPU Member Ronald Rabinowitz, MD for receipt of the AUA Lifetime Achievement Award. The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually to an individual for outstanding contributions to advance the mission and goals of the AUA. Dr. Rabinowitz was recognized for advancing the mission of the AUA by promoting education, research, and advocacy.

  • Over the last two years, the SPU Intersex Task Force and SPU Leadership have spent a significant amount of time advocating for both the rights of patients and health care professionals that care for patients with intersex and Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH). The result of this work has led to the development of several policy statements.
